Sterling High School Wrestling Records 1949-2020

Sterling High School has a very deep and rich tradition in the sport of wrestling. The Golden Warrior Wrestlers have won 29 Conference Championships. They have also finished in the top 10 at the state meet 8 times winning IHSA State Runner up trophies in 1964 and again in 1973. Sterling has qualified for the Dual Team State Championships in 2002 and again in 2016.

In this packet you will find Sterling High School Wrestling Records compiled by former head coaches Don Mekeel and Jeff Gale, and current head coach Kevin Heller. These are the most complete records they were able to put together. Admittedly some records are incomplete, and some wrestlers may have been left out. For that we sincerely apologize. The truth is, some coaches did not keep records. That being said, these are the official records we will use. We sincerely hope going forward, coaches and wrestlers will have a greater understanding of the Golden Warrior Wrestling history and tradition and will use these records as a motivation to set high goals and to achieve great things.
